ACTA Siemens PLC Test-zig
The PLC features built-in digital and analog I/O, high-speed counters, and Ethernet communication. The PLC communicates with the HMI via Industrial Ethernet (Modbus TCP / S7 protocol), providing real-time monitoring and control. This setup offers comprehensive hands-on experience in PLC programming, I/O wiring, and industrial communication.
This fully equipped PLC Test Zig is designed to provide in-depth practical training in modern industrial automation systems. The system is built around the Siemens S7-1200 CPU, a widely used compact PLC suitable for machine control and process automation applications.
PLC I/O Configuration:
The Siemens S7-1200 CPU is integrated with I/O's suitable for training and industrial practice:
1. Digital Inputs (DI): 14 × 24V DC
2. Digital Outputs (DO): 10 × 24V DC (transistor type)
3. Analog Inputs (AI): 2 × 0–10V
4. High-Speed Counters (HSC): For encoder and pulse applications
5. Pulse Train Outputs (PTO): For stepper/servo motor control
The test zig includes clearly labeled input switches and output indicators, allowing students to practice real-time testing of digital signals. The analog inputs enable training with sensors such as temperature transmitters, pressure sensors, and potentiometers, helping students understand scaling and analog signal processing.
Communication Medium:
The PLC features an integrated PROFINET (Industrial Ethernet) port, which is used for:
1. PLC–HMI communication
2. PLC programming and monitoring
3. Network configuration
The Delta HMI communicates with the PLC via Industrial Ethernet using Modbus TCP/IP communication protocol, enabling seamless data exchange between the PLC and HMI.
This communication setup allows students to learn:
1. IP addressing and network configuration
2. Tag mapping between PLC and HMI
3. Data exchange and diagnostics
4. Industrial networking fundamentals
